CCH Wound Care Center Earns National Awards
July 19, 2024
Central Carolina Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine has earned three national awards for its clinical excellence, patient satisfaction and wound healing rates for 2023.
The three awards were received from Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services:
- The Center of Distinction award, which recognizes outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent.
- The prestigious President’s Circle award for clinical and operational excellence.
- The Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Clinical Excellence Award for scoring in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics® Wound Care Centers® on its clinical excellence measure, which is the Comprehensive Healing Rate weighted by wound mix. This award is named for Dr. Warriner, a pioneer in wound care and former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
“Our wound care team is committed to providing outstanding care to the people of Lee, Harnett, Chatham and Moore counties,” said Dave Santoemma, Chief Executive Officer of Central Carolina Hospital. “These awards are a testament to the exceptional care and dedication demonstrated by our physicians, leaders and clinicians.”
Since 2015, the wound care center has offered highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. The center’s wound care experts provide advanced wound care modalities, including negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
“Carolina Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is committed to our community and surrounding communities to promote healing,” said Dellena Sellars, Program Director. “Our specialized team has received advanced training to deliver quality care to each patient.
“Our providers, Rebecca Martinez, AGNP-C, Ajay Ajmani, MD, and Todd Sommer, DO, share the goal that every patient with chronic wounds can be healed,” she said.
Central Carolina Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is among more than 600 wound care centers nationwide that belong to the Healogics network. For more information, visit https://www.centralcarolinahosp.com/wound-care.
