Melanie Pressley Named Director of Quality at Central Carolina Hospital

Central Carolina Hospital is pleased to announce that Melanie Pressley has transitioned into the role of Director of Quality. Since joining CCH in October 2025 as Disease Specific Coordinator, Melanie has brought a strong focus on quality, patient safety and continuous improvement — areas that have been central to her career.

Melanie brings a strong background in regulatory compliance and nursing leadership to her new role. Before joining CCH, she worked as a state surveyor with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and spent more than a decade with Surgical Care Affiliates, where she advanced from bedside nursing into leadership roles focused on quality, patient safety and process improvement.

Melanie moved to the Sanford area in 2021, and the community has since come to feel like home. Being able to support patients and staff close to where she lives makes this new role especially meaningful.

The hospital’s culture stood out to Melanie when she interviewed at CCH. Having visited many healthcare settings as a surveyor, she said she could often get a sense of how leadership teams worked together, especially under pressure. At CCH, she immediately felt a positive, collaborative environment among leaders and directors.

“I really love the culture here,” Melanie said. “It feels very collaborative, and it’s also a community environment. Being able to work in a place where you get to know everybody makes a huge difference. It’s easier to have an impact at a community hospital.”

Melanie’s passion for quality has been a guiding thread throughout her nursing career. She is excited to continue building on that foundation while expanding her experience in risk management.

“Quality has always been my passion,” Melanie said. “It’s the area of nursing that I truly love. I’m excited for what the future holds because there are so many opportunities to make an impact here in our community.”

For Melanie, the most rewarding part of this work is seeing meaningful change take place. She is looking forward to using her experience to support patients, staff and the broader community while helping strengthen the systems that keep care safe and effective.
