Claudia Lucia, PA-C, Physician Assistant, has joined Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care and is seeing patients in Sanford as of April 21.
She joins the practice of Robert McConville, MD, Parker McConville, MD, and Andrew Caldwell, DO, at 1125 Carthage Street next door to Central Carolina Hospital. Also at that location are Kazz Marsey, PA-C, Sally Chapin, FNP-C, and Tiesha Ward, FNP-C.
“Sanford and Lee County need greater access to primary care,” said Dave Santoemma, CEO of CCH. “Adding new providers like Claudia will help improve access to care as our community continues to grow.”
A native of Apex, Lucia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science from N.C. State University in Raleigh in 2021. She earned her Master of Science of Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University in Greenville in 2024.
Lucia completed clinical rotations in family medicine and emergency medicine at ECU Health Multispecialty Clinics in Belhaven and Edenton, followed by a clinical rotation in pediatrics at Washington Pediatrics, PA, in Washington, N.C.
Lucia will see patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics. Her clinical interests include IUD placement, Nexplanon placement, dermatologic procedures including shave, punch and excisional biopsies, incision and drainage (I&D), and GYN-specific complaints.
Outside work, she enjoys paddleboarding, hiking and cooking new foods, as well as travel, reading and getting together with friends and family.
