Physical & Occupational Therapy Services
Central Carolina Hospital's rehabilitation department offers outpatient and inpatient physical and occupational therapy services for those with musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions. Our staff of licensed physical and occupational therapists are here to provide you with quality and consistent one-on-one treatment.
Outpatients are treated Monday through Friday in our free-standing clinic at CCH, and inpatient therapy is available seven days a week.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapy at CCH involves treatment to restore muscular strength, coordination and balance, and improve range of motion.
Physical therapy also is used to help reduce pain, inflammation, muscle spasms and joint stiffness. Emphasis is placed on patient education, proper body mechanics and independent exercise programs to maximize effectiveness and prevent recurrence of injury.
Occupational Therapy
The main focus of occupational therapy is to enable the patient to relearn basic motor or cognitive skills needed to perform everyday living tasks.
These independent living skills include eating, dressing, cooking, bathing, homemaking and community skills. Occupational Therapy is an essential element of the patient’s recovery process. It enables individuals to increase their independence.
Our staff of experienced clinicians treat a variety of musculoskeletal diagnoses and surgeries including
- Acute neck and back pain
- Fractures of the extremities or spine
- Hand injuries including tendon repair, carpal tunnel syndrome
- Motor vehicle accident injuries
- Neurological conditions
- Orthopedic surgeries
- Sports injuries
- Stroke rehab
- Total hip or knee replacements
- Work-related injuries
