CCH Celebrates Quality Milestones for Zero Hospital-Acquired Infections

Central Carolina Hospital celebrated reaching several quality milestones on Friday, May 30, including more than a thousand days since the hospital’s last Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI).
The hospital also celebrated more than 400 days since its last Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI), C Diff. Infection and Surgical Site Infection (SSI).
Employees attended a special recognition event and enjoyed cake and ice cream in recognition of achieving the following milestones as of May 30:
- 1,130 days since the hospital’s last CLABSI (more than three years)
- 496 days since the hospital’s last SSI
- 437 days since the hospital’s last C. Diff infection
- 412 days since the hospital’s last CAUTI
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), on any given day, about one in 31 hospital patients has at least one healthcare-associated infection. Central Carolina Hospital has far exceeded the CDC's predictions by maintaining zero hospital-acquired infections.
