Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab
Central Carolina Hospital’s Cardiac Rehab program provides education and monitored exercise for inpatients and outpatients recently diagnosed with heart disease following an acute event such as a heart attack.
Making heart health a priority
Heart health is about more than just your heart. Blood pressure, cholesterol, family history and other factors all play important roles in keeping your heart strong. If you have questions about your heart health but aren’t quite sure where to begin, start with a heart health assessment and learn more about any risks you may have for heart-related conditions. Your journey to a stronger heart starts here.
CCH offers an inpatient Phase 1 cardiac rehabilitation program for patients who are having acute cardiac problems.
CCH offers a physician supervised phase 2 rehab program. These 36 sessions are individualized to your needs by our
- exercise physiologists
The cardiac rehab program also offers a step down cardiac program entitled Fit for Life, for patients with hypertension, post CVA's with independent gait, osteoporosis, obesity, and seniors trying to start an exercise program. The patient's blood sugar, blood pressures, heart rates, and weights are measured before and after exercise.
Pulmonary wellness classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons for patients with
- pulmonary fibrosis
- chronic bronchitis
- lung transplants
- pulmonary insufficiency
Each patient’s blood pressure, heart rate, weight, oxygen saturation, EKG rhythm, and dyspnea scale are monitored during the exercise program.
