DR. UMA (SHAH) DARJI JOINS CENTRAL CAROLINA HOSPITAL

 Family Medicine Physician brings her training and experience to Pittsboro

Sanford, NC (September 20, 2018) – Central Carolina Hospital announced that Uma (Shah) Darji, M.D. has joined its staff and will be offering Primary Care to patients throughout Pittsboro and surrounding areas. Dr. Darji joined Central Carolina Hospital’s medical staff on August 13th.

Dr. Darji was born in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of Austin College for her undergraduate degrees in History and Religious studies, as well as Political Science.  In her junior year, she spent time abroad in Italy where she had the opportunity to provide access to health care in mobile clinics to the disenfranchised. It was through this experience that she solidified her decision to become a family doctor.  “Dr. Darji joining our team is important as Central Carolina Hospital strives to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and making our community healthier” said Spencer Thomas, CEO of Central Carolina Hospital.

Dr. Darji obtained her medical degree at American University of the Caribbean, Cupecoy, St. Maarten. Her residency was completed at East Carolina University and its affiliated Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.   

Dr. Darji specializes in preventive health, patient education, comprehensive care, chronic disease management, medical education, practice management, holistic medicine, global health, urgent care and aesthetic medicine.

In Dr. Darji’s spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She is conversant in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Italian.
