Central Carolina Hospital to Re-Open Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care Practice in Broadway

Certified Physician Assistant Julia Gumpert to provide high quality care at formerly closed clinic location in Broadway community

Sanford, NC (August 6, 2019) – Central Carolina Hospital today announced plans to re-open its newly renovated Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care practice, located at 101 Church Street in Broadway, North Carolina. 

Certified Physician Assistant Julia Gumpert, PA-C, will begin seeing patients at Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care on August 13. For the first few weeks post-opening, appointments will be available only on select days. Starting September 3, Gumpert will see patients at the clinic Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

“Re-opening this clinic location means we are restoring a key primary healthcare access point for the community,” said Spencer Thomas, chief executive officer (CEO) of Central Carolina Hospital. “We are so pleased that Julia will be leading our efforts to advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier at Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care, and we look forward to the many ways she will positively impact the health and well-being of patients in this area.”

Gumpert is a native of Moncure, NC and attended school at Grace Christian School in Sanford. She currently lives in Lillington with her family. She is currently employed with Apollo MD as a hospitalist at Central Carolina Hospital. Previously, Gumpert worked at Angier Medical Services-Harnett Health in Angier, North Carolina; Hope Mills Family Care-Cape Fear Valley, in Hope Mills, North Carolina; and Carolina Heart Physicians in Raeford, North Carolina.

Gumpert graduated from the Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Medical Science from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She also earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Microbiology/Cell Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
