Family Physician brings his training to Sanford

Sanford, NC (July 10, 2017) – Central Carolina Hospital announced that Andrew Caldwell D.O., has joined its staff and will be offering Family Medicine to patients throughout Sanford. Dr. Caldwell is joining Central Carolina Hospital’s medical staff on July 10, 2017 and is the 12th provider to join the hospital’s medical staff this year.

“Dr. Caldwell has training in family medicine, and his specialties include urgent care, obesity, and osteopathic manipulative therapy.  He is an excellent addition to our medical staff,” said John Maxwell, CEO of Central Carolina Hospital.  “Dr. Caldwell joining our team is important as Central Carolina Hospital strives to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and make our community healthier.”

Dr. Caldwell joins Central Carolina Hospital from Hunt Club Medical Center in Apopka, FL providing urgent care for the general public. Previously, he worked at The Community After Hours Clinic at Florida Hospital, where he provided primary care for the under-served population. During this time, Dr. Caldwell also worked for Compass Research conducting Physical Exams and EKG interpretations for patients after administration of medications in clinical trials.  He also worked for Veteran’s Evaluation Services providing veteran medical disability evaluations for the Veteran Affairs.

 Dr. Caldwell is a graduate of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Dr. Caldwell completed his Internship and Residency in Family Medicine at Florida Hospital East Orlando, Orlando FL.  Dr. Cardwell received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.  He specializes in family medicine, general health, sports physicals, urgent care, obesity and osteopathic manipulative therapy.
