DR. RAJIV S. SWAMY JOINS CENTRAL CAROLINA HOSPITAL

 Noted cardiologist brings heart care expertise to Sanford

Sanford, NC (December 18, 2018) – Central Carolina Hospital is pleased to announce that Rajiv S. Swamy, MD, FACC has joined its staff and will be offering interventional cardiology services to patients throughout Sanford and surrounding areas. Dr. Swamy joined Central Carolina Hospital’s medical staff on December 5, 2018.

“Dr. Swamy brings prestigious cardiology experience in treating a wide range of heart conditions, including all aspects of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine to Central Carolina Hospital.  He is an excellent addition to our medical staff and cardiology program,” said Spencer Thomas, CEO of Central Carolina Hospital. 

Dr. Swamy joins Central Carolina Hospital from West Pennsylvania “Penn” Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where he has been the past 5 years.  Previously, he completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center in New York, NY. Before that he completed his Cardiology Fellowship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Swamy graduated medical school from the University of Chicago-Pritzker in Chicago, IL. He received his undergrad at Duke University in Durham, NC. He specializes in cardiology, coronary intervention, echocardiography, arterial and venous ultrasound, vascular medicine, peripheral vascular intervention, stress testing, cardiac rhythm evaluation and management.
