The Central Carolina Hospital Laboratory provides 24- hour clinical laboratory support to:

  • inpatient and outpatient populations
  • physician’s offices
  • emergency department

The laboratory interacts with, obtains specimens from and performs clinical laboratory examinations on patients of all ages, including infants. The Laboratory’s departments include:

  • Chemistry
  • Blood Blank
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Specimen Processing

Central Carolina Hospital’s Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program, and also obtains a certificate of accreditation from the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments.

The laboratory is located off the main hallway by the emergency room entrance. All patients need to bring a written order form from their physician, to include specific testing required, insurance/billing information, and diagnosis. All patients must report to registration before coming to the lab. If patients are unsure of when to come to the laboratory, please call the main telephone number at (919) 774-2270.
