The Central Carolina Hospital Laboratory provides 24- hour clinical laboratory support to:
- inpatient and outpatient populations
- physician’s offices
- emergency department
The laboratory interacts with, obtains specimens from and performs clinical laboratory examinations on patients of all ages, including infants. The Laboratory’s departments include:
- Chemistry
- Blood Blank
- Hematology
- Microbiology
- Specimen Processing
Central Carolina Hospital’s Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program, and also obtains a certificate of accreditation from the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments.
The laboratory is located off the main hallway by the emergency room entrance. All patients need to bring a written order form from their physician, to include specific testing required, insurance/billing information, and diagnosis.
