January 2011: CCH has earned the Gold Plus award for coronary artery disease care from the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines program. This recognition demonstrates CCH’s commitment to providing our community with quality care.

CCH has earned the GOLD PLUS award from the American Heart Association for heart failure care through the Get With The Guidelines program (January 2011). This is the highest level of award the hospital can achieve through the AHA's program.

 

Central Carolina Hospital has been recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers.  The recognition is one of several steps the hospital is making to become a certified breast center of excellence through the National Consortium of Breast Centers (November 2010).

The Leapfrog Group named Central Carolina Hospital "A Top Rural Hospital" at their 10th Anniversary meeting in Washington D.C. Nearly 1,200 hospitals voluntarily publicly reported their performance via the Leapfrog Survey, and only 65 hospitals were chosen to earn the Top Hospital designation. In the "Top Rural Hospitals" category, only six hospitals were selected for this recognition. The Leapfrog Group is one of the country’s leading advocacy group to focus on national patient safety, quality, and resource use standards. Some of the clinical focus areas include computerized physician order entry, ICU physician staffing, outcomes of high risk procedures, common acute conditions, hospital acquired conditions, safe practices, and never events.  Central Carolina Hospital exceeded Leapfrog's threshold for Efficiency driven by Quality and Resource Use. CCH has earned the SILVER award from the American Stroke Association/American Heart Association for stroke care through the Get With The Guidelines program (July 2010).

 

 

 

CCH is is the first hospital in the state to earn the GOLD award from the American Heart Association for heart failure care through the Get With the Guidelines program (March 2010).  Look for this in Best Hospital in America Issue of the U.S. News & World Report (July 2010).

American Association for Respiratory Care 

 

Central Carolina Hospital’s Respiratory Department has earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the American Association for Respiratory Care. The QRCR designation signifies CCH’s commitment to providing a level of respiratory care that is consistent with national standards and guidelines to ensure patient safety. Approximately only 15% of hospitals in the United States have received this award.

Central Carolina Hospital earned full accreditation from The Joint Commission, May 2009. The Joint Commission is the nation's leading hospital accreditation agency and signifies a hospital's commitment to patient safety by following national standards of care.

 
Educare Breast Education Certification 

 

 

Central Carolina Hospital's breast health navigator is certified in breast health through EduCare and through MammaCare to teach breast self exam (BSE) classes.  Certification from EduCare requires 40 hours of education addressing physical, social, and emotional aspects of patients with breast disease.
