The second floor at Central Carolina Hospital is a 36-bed Med/Surg/Pediatrics unit, which provides professional nursing care to a patient population consisting of patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The services provided on this unit encompass various ypes of pediatric illnesses or surgeries including

• vascular surgery
• orthopedic surgery
• general surgery
• urological surgeries
• gynecological surgery
• trauma
• ENT surgery
• plastic or reconstructive surgery
• neurology evaluations (excluding neurosurgery)
• cardiac catheterization (pre and post care available on Monday and every other Thursday)
• lithotripsy (available on Saturday)
• internal medicine
• general medicine
• family practice

All patient care on Surgical Floor is provided by Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistant I and II’s, and Unit Secretaries. Supervision is provided to all personnel by a Nursing Director with 24-hour responsibility for management.
